Traffic was temporarily tied up in Harwood following a "serious motor vehicle crash" that resulted in one person being killed in the area of Solomon's Island Road in the area of Birdsville Road.
According to Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown, members of his office's Independent Investigations Division (IID) also responded to the scene to investigate the fatal crash.
No details about the driver or police pursuit have been released by officials.
The incident remains under investigation. More information is expected to be released.
